Welcome to Documill – Huong Nguyen

Huong Nguyen

Curious and knowledgeable, Huong who is the technical half of our new marketing hires. Welcome!

Documill has seen considerable growth during the past year and with new business come new faces. In this series we will turn the spotlight on those who have chosen to join Documill to further their careers.

Quiet. Focused. Considerate. But also, curious and knowledgeable. Huong has recently joined Documill with the personal goal of mastering what many would consider to be the back end of marketing. Keywords, data, integrations and automations.

She recently graduated from LAB University of Applied Sciences in Lappeenranta, Finland and managed to earn some 20-odd additional certificates along the way. Still, this will be her first real opportunity to put all that theoretical knowledge into practice.

Before that, however, there are the wonderful worlds of document automation, contract creation, and Salesforce to explore. All worlds in which Documill operates and all complex subjects in their own right. But with her eagerness to learn, Huong will manage just fine.

Learn by doing

“Everything is really cool so far,” Huong mentions as I ask her how things are going. “I’ve learned so many things, even if it has only been three weeks since I’ve joined. Everybody has been really supportive and everyone is responsive whenever I need to ask something.”

When I press her further on what she has learned so far, she confesses that “practice is totally different than theory. In practice, topics like tracking data are a lot more complicated, especially when others have tried to implement solutions before you. And doing research on a topic is one thing but applying findings to reach a goal is something completely different!”

She is probably right that untangling 15 years of data – Documill is not exactly a startup – and making sense of previous attempts of reporting is like untangling a pile of cooked spaghetti.
Plus, it is never easy for anyone to come into a B2B SaaS company, especially when fresh out of university, but Huong has shown great progress so far. When I tell her that, she just smiles modestly.

“I’ve learned so many things, even if it has only been three weeks since I’ve joined. Everybody has been really supportive and everyone is responsive whenever I need to ask something.”

Doing based on data

“This sounds like a sales pitch,” she says, “but it is really true that the meetings in which we got to see demos and tutorials helped me better understand how Salesforce works and why we create our products. I can now clearly see how companies can benefit from the Documill approach to creating contracts and collaboration.” I cannot help but smile too as I choose to believe that she meant every word.

It is good to remember that these days every company wants their marketing to be data driven. However, many forget that you first need someone to drive that data. For us, Huong will be that someone and we are thrilled to have her on board.
